Australia captain, Mitchell Marsh :Can’t remember the last time we played and had so many rain interruptions.India were outstanding and deserved the series win. Congratulations to them. For us, there are plenty of positives and learnings to take forward. The adaptability and flexibility shown within our group have been impressive, especially in a World Cup year. We’re in the process of building a balanced and versatile squad, and it’s encouraging to see different players stepping up and performing their roles effectively.
International cricket always has moving parts, particularly with an Ashes series approaching, but the attitude and commitment from the team have been first-class. When we’re at full strength, we have a very settled side. Now, the focus shifts to domestic cricket, and I hope the boys enjoy the Big Bash hopefully, the Scorchers can lift the trophy again- He said
Abhishek is player of the series , he is delighted to his form and Opportunities: I’ve been eagerly waiting for this tournament. When I found out we were touring Australia for the T20Is, I was genuinely excited. Throughout my career, I’ve always seen Australia as a very batting-friendly country, and I was looking forward to testing myself here. That said, I feel we could’ve posted better totals in some games. The way Josh Hazlewood bowled was outstanding — he’s a world-class bowler, and facing someone of his quality is always a great challenge for any batter. I’ve always enjoyed that contest between bat and ball; it brings out the best in me.
To perform consistently at the highest level, you have to be ready to face top-quality bowlers, and that’s exactly what I’ve been preparing for in training. I must give special credit to our captain and coach — they’ve trusted me with the freedom to go out there and express myself. As a batter, when you’re getting 20s and 30s you know you can do more, but the clarity they’ve provided about my role — to set the momentum early for the team — has really helped. That’s something I’ve been working on during practice sessions and the off-season.
Looking ahead, the upcoming T20 World Cup at home is one of the biggest milestones for any cricketer. If I get the opportunity to represent my country there, it’ll truly be a dream come true. Since childhood, I’ve always dreamt of winning the World Cup and contributing to my team’s success. I’ll make sure I’m fully prepared and ready to give my best when that moment arrives- he said
