India vs West Indies,2nd Test ,Day 2, Gill , Jadeja put india on command

Day 2 of the second test India vs West Indies at the Arun Jaitely Stadium in Delhi turned into a one sided affair as India stamped their authority with a commanding batting display followed by disciplined bowling. The hosts up massive total of 518/5 declared before their spinners rattled the Caribbean top order, leaving the visitors reeling at 140/4 by Stumps.

Jaiswal and Gill who resume the day 2 from 318/2 , Jaiswal missed double century after mix up with Gill led to his run out for 175 off 258 balls,laced with 22 fours.

Shubman Gill taking authority batted with remarkable composure. He reached his century and went on to remain unbeaten on 129 off 196 balls with the help of 16 boundaries and 2 maximum .

Nitish Kumar Reddy played a confident knock of 43 off 54 balls , while Dhruv jurel added 44 runs . india plug on their innings at 518/5 in 134.2 overs setting west indies a massive challenge.

West Indies began reasonably, but the breakthrough came early when John Campbell (10) was dismissed on bizarre fashion, his sweep shot ricocheted off sai sudarshan helmet grille before being caught.

Tagenarine chanderpaul showed some resistance, battling his way to 34 off 68 balls but jadeja relentless accuracy ended his stay. Alick Athanaze (41) looked promising and played some fine stroke through the off side , yet fell to sharp delivery from kuldeep yadav . At stumps west indies were struggling at 140/4 in 43 overs ,still trailing india by 378 runs . Shai Hope (31*) and Tevin Imlach (14*) were at the crease, holding the fort as India bowlers continued to threaten . Jadeja emerged as the Star of the attack with figures of 3/37 , while kuldeep supported well with 1/45 .

What india look heading in to Day 3 

With the pitch beginning to offer significant turn and bounce, the contest appears heavily tilted in India’s favor. The West Indies will need an extraordinary effort from their middle and lower order to avoid the follow-on. India, on the other hand, will aim to wrap up the visitors’ innings quickly and possibly enforce the follow-on to push for a 2–0 series sweep.
