ICC WOMEN’S WORLD CUP: Ban vs Pak , Match Highlights

The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 witnessed an intriguing clash between Bangladesh Women and Pakistan Women in Colombo. Bangladesh produced a clinical all-round performance to seal a 7-wicket win, chasing down Pakistan’s modest total of 129 in style.

Match Highlights

Winning the toss, Pakistan opted to bat first but failed to put up a challenging total. Opener  Omaima Sohail departed without scoring and Muneeba Ali (17) started cautiously but could not convert their starts, with both falling inside the first powerplay. while Sidra Amin also goes on golden ducks , The middle order struggled to impose themselves. Rameen Shamim (23 off 39 balls) showed glimpses of resistance but falling to Nahida Akter, Alia Riyaz falling cheaply on 13 , while Sidra Nawaz fall on 25 wickets kept tumbling.  Fatima Sana (22) fought to bring some respectability to the innings, but partnerships lacked longevity. Bangladesh’s spinners took over midway, exploiting a slow surface that rewarded flight and accuracy. Shorna Akter’s spell was decisive her three wickets not only dented Pakistan’s run flow but also shattered hopes of a late flourish.while  Diana Baig 16 , Nashra Sandhu 1 and Sadia Iqbal 4 ,Pakistan eventually all out on 129 in 38.3 overs .

Bangladesh bowling shorna Akter who takes 3/5 in just 3.3 over, while Nahida Akter and Marufa Akter bagged 2 wickets each , Rabeya, Nishita, and Fahima gets one wicket each.

Chasing a modest target of 130 , Bangladesh lose early 2 wickets Fargana Hoque (2), and Sharmin Akter 10. Debutant Rubya Haider shown her maturity and composed 54 off 77 deliveries anchoring the chase.Skipper Nigar Sultana (23 off 44 balls) once again displayed her experience, playing a controlled innings and building a match-defining 62 runs partnership with Rubya. Their stand ensured Bangladesh strong position , while Sobhana Mostary 24* off 19 who finished the match along with Rubya 131/3 just in 31.1 overs .

While Pakistan bowling Diana Baig, Fatima Sana and Rameen Shamim takes 1 wicket each.
