Can india survive on Day 5
India now need 522 runs with only eight wickets left, while chasing a massive target of 549. The pitch has worn down badly, offering sharp turn and uneven bounce, which is already helping South Africa spinners. Simon Harmer dismissal of KL Rahul showed how difficult batting has become. At this stage, India realistic aim is not to win but to survive for a draw. For that, the remaining batters especially Sai Sudharsan and the middle order must bat patiently for almost 90 overs,With the pitch getting tougher and early wickets already gone, a South African victory looks highly likely, putting them in a strong position to seal the series.
