Zimbabwe Shock Sri Lanka by 67 runs victory in Tri series

Zimbabwe registered a stunning and comprehensive 67 run victory over Sri Lanka in the second match of the Tri-Nation T20I Series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium

Sri Lanka won the toss and Opted to bowl first, Zimbabwe innings started with shaky notes,when Maheesh Theekshana dismissed Tadiwanshe Murumani on 10 and Brendon Taylor fell after on 11 . Meanwhile, Brian Bennett anchored the innings and played 49 runs knock off 42 balls , Rotating strike smartly and punishing losse deliveries, add 61 run partnership alongwith Sikandar Raza ,who played fluent Knock 47 runs off 32 deliveries , featuring 3 fours and 2 sixes , Ryan Brul added 18 valuable runs, some late contribution from lower order. Zimbabwe managed 162/8 in 20 overs.

Wanindu Hasaranga was picked of the bowler for Sri Lanka took 3/32 in 4 overs while Eshan Malinga gets 2 wickets and 1 wickets for Dushmantha Chameera and Maheesh Theekshana

Chasing 163, Sri Lanka never looked in control. Their innings had a shaky start as Zimbabwe bowlers struck early and kept building pressure throughout.

Richard Ngarava and Tinotenda Maposa removed Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera cheaply, denting Sri Lanka  hopes right away. The situation worsened when Kusal Mendis was run-out after a mix-up, leaving the batting lineup in trouble.

The only real fight in Sri Lanka innings came from captain Dasun Shanaka, who scored a gritty 34 runs off 25 balls with the help of 2 fours and 2 sixes. But once he fell to a sharp catch by Brendan Taylor off Ryan Burl, the rest of the lineup collapsed quickly. Sri Lanka were eventually bowled out for 95 in the final over, far short of the target.

For Zimbabwe  Brad Evans was stand out bowler took 3/9 in 4 overs while Richard Nagarva chipped with 2 wickets and Tinotenda Maposa, Sikandar Raza, Graeme Cremer and Ryan Brul gets 1 wicket each.
