The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially revealed the 15-member Test squad for the upcoming two-match home series against South Africa, starting November 14, 2025. The series will be part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025–27 cycle, making it a crucial contest for both sides.
The headline news from the squad announcement is the return of wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who makes a comeback to red-ball cricket after recovering from his toe injury layoff. Pant, who has been named vice-captain, adds power and balance to the middle order while also taking up the gloves behind the stumps. His return is expected to strengthen India’s batting depth and bring aggression back into the lineup.
